27 Jan Reflections: Spoken Word Artist Commission
Collective Remembering: Lockdown and the River Tay
Are you a spoken word artist?
Do you like hearing people’s stories?
Would you like to be part of a new collection of oral histories?
Yes? Then read on….
Reflections will collect stories from local people about their relationship with the River Tay during 2020. In a series of recorded conversations, we will capture the ways that people connected to the River Tay during the national lockdown. This will form a new collection of oral archives for our city. We are looking for a local artist to create a spoken word response to these oral stories. You will write and perform an original response to the collected stories for inclusion in a display along Dundee’s Waterfront. Your work will create a unique response to a unique year – and help us to celebrate our city’s connection to the river.
Commission Details:
| £800 Commission | Delivery by Monday 1st March |
Requires listening to approx. 10 recorded conversations with local people.
If you are experienced in collaborative projects and want to help to create a new historical record for our city, please send a brief (100 word) outline of why you would like to get involved and examples of your work to Rio rio@scrapantics.co.uk by Monday 1st February 2021.
